I discovered this dont walk traffic light discarded at the local dump and couldn’t see why it shouldn’t get another life. It was in fairly good used condition but had obviously failed in its operation or had become outdated. It had none of the original electricts but it was a fairly simple process to add in a lamp holder and upcycle to create an industrial decor item, in this case a feature lamp.
The “DON’T WALK” sign could be replaced easily with another sayng BE CALM or TRAFFIC LIGHT or BE FREE, but we decided to stay with DONT WALK.
The lamp stands 40cm ( 16 inches ) high x 35 cm ( 14 inches ) wide x 20cm ( 8 inches ) deep and could sit on the floor in an open plan layout or on a desk as a table lamp.
