This hardwood crate was recovered from the tip face where it had been dumped. These crates are usually manufactured from pine, so it is interesting that this one is hardwood. It has the faint remains of a company or brand name H.R. HEILBRO?? on the side.

It has been upcycled into a small display shelf with the addition of two shelves made from recycled hardwood and three steel rods also recovered from a scrap heap. A base was added for stability and a top for symmetry.

The display stands 55cm (21″) high and is 34cm (13″) wide and after cleaning the whole piece was lightly waxed keeping its’ natural finish.
